We are pleased to announce the results of GR SNAPS Vol. 12 “Tokyo Tower”! We apologize for the delay.
We received about 300 submissions this time! Due to a problem with Instagram's algorithm, we had to ask you to use a more time-consuming submission method. Thank you for your understanding.
This time, as a joint project with “Let’s meet at Tokyo Tower. The TTA Project(TTA)”, we chose “Tokyo Tower” as the theme, so we thought the number of submissions would be a bit low, but that was not the case. We are very grateful that we received many submissions from both Japan and overseas.
When we had Eita Nagayama's exhibition and photo session at Tokyo Tower in April and May, we had more visitors from overseas than we expected. We were told that there were more visitors than in previous years.
It would be so nice if the beauty and history of “Tokyo Tower” could be conveyed not only to Japanese people, but also to overseas people.

We, the GR official members, the editorial staff of TTA Magazine, and Eita Nagayama reviewed the submissions, and selected the following five works as the result.
The selected works are the following 5 works! Please take a look and comment.

I wonder if something has happened to her.
Sentimentality like this is hard to find.
Dejected, with a big bag,
If only she could have made it to Tokyo Tower,
She would be alive now
She would find hope.
“But I'll be waiting for you at Tokyo Tower.”
I can hear such a sound.
I love this picture.

Tokyo Tower suddenly appears.
Unconsciously clicking the shutter.
That's the perfect expression for this photo.
The girls seem to understand this feeling.
The footbridge adds color and
makes you want to keep looking.

This is a photo with depth that takes you somewhere that is not Tokyo when you look at it in a daze. I have the impression that the rooftop of FOOT TOWN is a lively place, but this photo gives me a feeling of something close to tranquility. It's frustrating that I can't express what I want to express any better, but it's so good that I could look at this work forever without getting tired of it.

At first glance, this appeared to be a simple and well-photographed standing figure of Tokyo Tower, but the steel frames near the ground were distorted, and I wondered what it was. I realized that it was the reflection on the surface of the water (rotated 180 degrees). This wonderful work is a combination of the idea of finding that angle and the skill of capturing a vivid night scene without blurring.
★simonedotorg(GR official Selection)
The color of the ground and the geometric pattern of the steel frames - both are “things you can always find there,” but the juxtaposition of the two elements creates an impressive work. The blue playground equipment, the yellow bus, and even the green of the trees add accents. The bold black frame adds to the thrill of looking down.
Congratulations to everyone who was selected!
Thanks again for your submissions!
Finally, here is a recap video of Eita Nagayama's exhibition and photo session in April and May. Enjoy it!
