New Year’s Greetings

2025.01.01 BLOG

Happy New Year!

I wonder if many of you who work in Japan will have 9 consecutive holidays this year. The weather forecast says that many areas from Hokkaido to Hokuriku will have heavy snowfall during the holidays, and it looks like Tokyo will also have much colder winter weather compared to last year.

We are planning to visit Nara for “GR meet 47” this month. We might be able to see a snowy landscape? That would be exciting.

When we started, we wondered if we would really be able to visit all 47 prefectures, but now we only have 9 prefectures left. The reason we have been able to continue for so long is because of you who passionately participate in these events.

We always have many participants at our events, some of whom come from far away by plane or bullet train. Thank you very much!

To give back to all of you, we will continue to hold more events for you to enjoy photography and GR!

I wish each and every one of you a wonderful new year.

With gratitude for the New Year, GR official members wish you all the best for the coming year with a photo!

One day in December last year, I saw a phantom sun (vertical rainbow) at both ends of the sun from my house. It is a rare atmospheric phenomenon and is said to bring good luck. I wish you all good luck!

●ARA
My favorite activity these days is visiting second-hand stores. I was surprised by the sharp image of the binoculars I got in the junk section the other day. I hope to find more bargains this year.

●Ninzaburo
Last year, I felt like my mind was being blocked by something unknown. This year, I want to free myself from that and spend my time cheerfully and happily.

●Asakura
According to the old calendar, this year is the year of “the greatest misfortune.” I hope to have a healthy and happy year without any serious illness.

Be mindful of “knowing what is enough” and be grateful. I hope to have another happy and healthy year. I would also love to go abroad, which I haven't been able to do for a while.
