Hello, this is Yuka.
It suddenly became cool in Tokyo.
How did you spend your summer vacation?
Like ARA, I go back to my hometown Chichibu, Saitama every summer.
My children keep running and never stop so it is hard to take their pictures.
In order to save the focusing time, I assign the following settings to My Setting. When I want to focus, I use the thumb press AF button.
My setting
[Focus] Snap
[Snap Focus Distance] 5 m
[Full Press Snap] ON
[Metering] Multi
[Continuous] Continuous
When shoot outside, in the park for example, I recall this Setting and set the aperture according to the weather first. It is usually between F 4.0 and F 8.0. When they are running or on a slide, I start continuous shooting at the distance I feel like it’s 5 meters. 2.5 m is too close as a focusing distance when they are coming towards me. 5 m is just right for me.
F5.6, ISO100, 1/500, EV+0.3
I use this Setting and the thumb press AF together in a difficult situation like swing.
When it comes to summer, I think of swimming pool. I have to be careful the GR does not get wet, but I use the same Setting when photographing them playing in the water.
F5.6, ISO100, 1/1600, EV+0.0
F5.6, ISO100, 1/350, EV+0.3
A cafe in the green. My impression of summer has always been green and blue since I was little.
F2.8, ISO200, 1/200, EV-0.3
Ice cream after swimming is sooo yummy.
F2.8, ISO400, 1/40, EV+0.3
When shooting fireworks, I check the wind direction first. And then set [Focus] to Spot AF, and the aperture and exposure considerably low so that the shutter speed can be fast enough.

Please tell us your favorite settings.
See you next time!
